Logo and corporate design with applications and website development for the first German pavilion at the Gwangju Biennale: The logo design reflects the central theme of ‘encounter’. This encounter is not only a thematic focus of the exhibition, but also a visual concept that is realised in the logo itself.
The logo consists of letters that approach each other, touch gently and connect easily. This approach and connection of the letters symbolises the meeting of people and artists as well as the interactions and connections that arise through art.
The design conveys a feeling of warmth and togetherness, as the letters merge harmoniously without losing their independence. This subtle connection creates a unique and inviting logo that visually embodies the pavilion’s values of openness, exchange and collaboration.
The soft connection of the letters creates a dynamic yet harmonious image that underlines the importance of interpersonal encounters and artistic dialogues. The logo invites viewers to engage in these encounters and experience the diversity of artistic expression in an open and unifying space.

The structure of the website follows the principle of corporate design by superimposing different layers. These superimposed layers create subtle shifts and create visual depth through the use of different layers. Designing with these layers gives the site a dynamic, multi-layered look that constantly draws the user’s eye to new details.
A central element of the site is storytelling, which plays an important role in the project. The text on the website remains deliberately blurred or incomplete – it is intended to arouse the viewer’s curiosity and encourage them to delve deeper into the content. It is less about directly grasping the message and more about arousing interest and awakening a desire to discover more about the project.
The website therefore not only conveys information, but also creates an interactive and visually appealing experience that subtly draws the visitor into the world of the project.
